Just a quick daytime shot of my lights on my POV (a 2004 Dodge Ram) for the fire department. My setup consists of a 4 Head (16 LED) TIR Dashlight, 2 (4 LED) Axixtech Xtreme Linear Split LED modules, 6 head strobe kit from Strobes 'N More (only using 4 strobes - 2 in the headlights and 2 in the taillights.) My siren is a 100w Federal Signal Unitrol Omega. *Note: The headlight strobes don't show up very well with the digital video camera, so I apologize.*

LED Dash Lights - Basic Components of Emergency Vehicles
There are many different important components that make up the equipment of an emergency vehicle. One of the essential components in addition to emergency lights is the LED dash lights. In order to ascertain the vehicle can properly respond to emergencies it is essential maintain lights in the dash for those times you may not want your presence to be obvious. While this is a function you might find more necessitated to a police vehicle, there are times it may be beneficial for a fire truck or ambulance to maintain a low profile and make use of the LED lights on the dash rather than lighting up the area with outside emergency lights.
LED dash lights can be very helpful in situations where you may want to remain less obvious. For instance, in a police emergency that involves injuries there may be a need for an ambulance to maintain a low profile until it is at least able to leave the area with the injured patient. Thus instead of rushing to the hospital with all of the overhead lights and sirens going at full force it can use the interior dash lights until everyone is safely out of the area. In this way the chances of the emergency vehicles also becoming involved in a shoot out might be reduced.
Another way LED dash lights might be helpful is when there is a car accident that may occur in the area where one of the injured parties lives. In order to avoid alarming family and friends the ambulance can leave the area quietly and proceed to the hospital with the patient and avoid any kind of public display. This is also a good exercise at times when someone has been injured in a sporting event and there are no family members immediately present-rather than alarm others it remains the responsibility of medical personnel to contact family members.
In some very severe cases the emergency vehicle operator may choose to use both outside and interior LED dash lights. This is likely to be more effective after dark when it's possible for passersby to see both the exterior and interior lights with the understanding the operation of both means there is a severe emergency situation that requires the vehicle to arrive at the hospital or another destination as soon as possible. This type of response may be equally necessary for an ambulance, fire truck or police vehicle.
